Circumstances shape one's fate

I see clearly that God has led me along a path strewn with diverse experiences giving me lessons on the variety of the reality about which savants are at loggerheads when trying to understand and savages use swords to impress his immediate neighbor with his own ideas. I find this place unfit for war for a mortal never wins anything as far as he is a mortal. Any joy he can avail from any pain it may cause his brother.

Notes from Crime & Punishment

Upon what did Jesus lean except his own cross? Upon what cross to lean did he teach you?
Your Own. It is a matter of humility, truth, and courage. It leads to freedom.
